1995 KISS Convention

Obviously if I have a Convention Pass I must have gone to the Convention here in Perth !!! Well yes indeed I did, and I can tell you it was quite an experience if you are a fan. I was also fortunate enough to video the event and if possible, when I learn how to create Quicktime movies, I will place some here.

There was a vast array of different memorabilia from different eras in the bands long history. Amongst the collection of paraphenalia on display, were vintage costumes belonging to all members, including the absolutely ridiculous original costume that was intended for Eric Carr. (When I digitise it, you will find it here.) It looked like a shorter Big Bird of Sesame Street! Fortunately Eric never had to were it! There was also an amazing collection magazine covers, the likes of which I've never seen before. Prints from all over the world, again telling of the bands long and generally prosperous history.

Others features happening included a Drum tutorial and autograph session with Eric Singer, the replacement drummer since the tragic death of Eric Carr. There were also continuous film clips and interview footage being played on a large screen. One highlight of the evening was the anticipated interview with the fans. We were given the opportunity to interview and talk quite candidly with Paul Stanley & Gene Simmons, the two originals, and Bruce Kulic & Eric Singer, the latest additions to the once legendary super group. The questions asked ranged from teeny boper stupid to gossip busting truths.

The event climaxed with an unplugged session by the Heroes, who showed that even after 22 years of practice, it's still possible to forget your own songs. Gene is famous for playing something entirely different from the rest of the band, and demonstrated this once again. Fortuanately he was once again rescued by Paul.

Unfortunately by request, which I obviously obeyed, the unplugged session was not allowed to be recorded.
